There are situations in everyone's career and personal life in which speaking in public is required. It may be to a large crowd or to a small group of two or three.

In the work world, many positions necessitate some level of public speaking. Trainers, managers, clergy, sales representatives, and teachers, to name a few occupations, all have reasons to speak in public from time to time.
